Noisy, loud and yet friendly
Today AGL and MDL weren't around as they both got down with bouts of flu. I had a very boring time in office, counting down the time for the clock to strike.
FINALLY!
Anyway the HR manager in my company chatted with me for a while when I went to another colleague's desk to chat. He asked an interesting question, something about me being pretty noisy, loud and yet friendly. Haha shucks, my first complaint that I'm boistrous! He wondered when I became 'like this', being so outspoken and friendly to people (he says I come across as a person who gives others a warm, friendly feeling when I speak and can connect hearts quickly). Hmm! I didn't think much but the answer I think was quite obvious - toastmasters! Being in toastmasters, especially my current club, really took away the misbelief that it is dangerous to talk (actually it is, but if you do it appropriately..) and now to think of it, I guess the exchange experience also helped a lot as well. I told him about how I consciously wanted to change myself to become the person I want to be (someone genuine and friendly) and I think going on exchange gave me the confidence and firm determination to work towards my goals.
Communications is indeed a tough yet invaluable skill!
