New Year Resolutions 2007 (draft)
I had a wonderful evening yesterday with QK and WT where we met for a year-end dinner at the new Cafe de Amigo at Funan Center followed by a late night movie Death Note 2. I reached home around 2am in the morning and was dead beat!
Earlier in the day I braved the towns to do some last minute gift shopping (harrowing experience with the crowds) and while I was at it, it suddenly hit upon me that I should come up with a set of Near Year resolutions to hopefully spur a more meaningful 2007. I've not made resolutions for ages since a dismal foray when I was a teenager and I broke just about every resolution I made then. I went to the book stores and after some digging, came up with the following. Note the list is still a draft, and I've tried to rank them in some preliminary order of importance:
1. Learn Japanese for JLPT2 in 2008 - definitely achievable, already signed up for classes
2. Read a book each month - seems achievable
- Read a book on NLP - recommendations, anyone?
- Read Edward de Bono's Thinking Course - great book but I've never got to reading it, a challenge
4. Exercise thrice a week - even tougher! I'm such a lazy slob
5. Date - sigh
6. Learn how to invest - www.poems.com.sg
7. Learn to dance - two left feet!
8. Learn first aid - something useful in life
9. Be more forgiving and less judgemental
10. Learn how to evaluate wine

While surfing the net for fresh inspirations, I stumbled upon this web site that writes about new year resolutions for students. Quite a cute one and how right about how each semester seems so.. fresh! A luxury indeed, comparing with the corporate office where rejuvenation comes gradually.
