Botak Jones, Big Boss speech, Chestnuts (play), ferverent prayers (JET),
On Wednesday we met our ex-colleague AGL for lunch at Botak Jones! There was B and PML as well. It was really great, as we were very sporting and ordered their specialties (Cajun chicken, fish & chips, Botak burger) and shared amongst ourselves. It was really filling though, burp!
Thursday I went for our Big Boss's speech which takes place roughly twice a year, though there was nothing much gained from it other than this cute little drum as a corporate gift. Hmm!
Friday I watched this year's Chestnuts (the play) with PML and LY which has been something I have wanted to do so at the back of my mind since I first heard of it during my undergraduate days. Well, it was quite disappointing as most of the parodies require the audience to be familiar with other local productions (which woeful me does not have) so most of the jokes slip past my mind. However I really like the digs at this old Ribena advertisement about this little pesky boy asking this girl what she was drinking. And oh the remake of Rihanna's "Umbrella", 881-hokkien style! (instead of going "ella, ella", the singers go "ho sua, hor sua"!).

What other highlights were there? Today as usual I went for Japanese class in the morning, and after that I decided to do my usual tour of the central area by shopping at Plaza Singapura and then walk to Bugis Junction, popping by the temple for a short prayer for everyone around me and of course JET! I got myself another chawanmushi cup (for drinking tea?!) from Daiso, and chanced upon this quirky teabags that Japanese and Koreans use to spice up their drinking water. I bought two of them and I can't wait to try them out in office next Monday!
A lot of things are happening actually, just that I am not getting enough time to document them but I hope the photographs will do!
