I am so fat!
I need to lose weight!
Sometimes I wonder why am I perpetually bouncing on both extremes. I think it reflects my thinking - while on one hand making a decision or having a goal drives one in a clear and meaningful direction, there is the other nagging feeling that I might be missing something worthwhile out, not to mention the constant question to myself on where on earth I get these messages to fulfill those particular goals from.
For instance, talk about losing weight. Is that really a move towards being healthy, or is it a societal message that our media and people around us who are conditioned in a particular way send to us? As such, does it still make sense to follow what other people say when after some deeper thought, it seems like they are just like other ideas that more people subscribe to? Why should I subscribe to these ideals then?
