A new beginning
My department has decided recently to change the structure of the department, changing it to one that is project-based instead of the existing team-based structure. The upper management's rationale behind it is that people have become increasingly protective over their own team-based roles and not interacting as much with fellow colleagues from other teams as per the open structure that they had envisioned it to be.
Together with that scheme is the revamp of everyone's reporting officer (RO), or the person whom I report to. I was having a rather nice one who was not micromanaging and was keenly interested in whatever I had wanted to do. The new one, however... nothing nice (at all) has been heard about the person. When I told some colleagues about the news, they acted as if someone has died and consoled me.
Doesn't bode well, huh? Moreover from what I understand the person is someone who is keenly interested in IT which is something I am getting myself out of as I do not see a life of debugging and whatever-not, especially considering juggling with other matters such as teaching/facilitating.
To think about it seriously, I do not think I care a lot about it, because I have already collected a lot of things on my plate and I will definitely insist that I will like to do whatever I like (which contributes to the work)
JET, chotto matte kudasai!
